Freeloader UPDATE

Look what just showed up at the shop yesterday.

The little freeloader is about 6 or 7 months old and was very hungry.
She appears to have been on her own for some time as she is much thinner than she should be.
I fed her and brought her in out of the weather... we got more snow last night
and it is still coming down this morning, she seems grateful and very friendly, and smart.

I think I'll have to keep her if nobody claims her,
I like a husky pup to round out the crew.

2/28/08 UPDATE

after all the super comments I got to run in to my Ver and had them run a scanner over the pup (Monday)
seems she has a chip. I posted an add on the local radio station
as well as in our local paper.

The owner called me today, it seems she escaped from them early last week.
When I asked where she came from I was told over a mile and a half away.
And that she is only 4 months old, was born Oct, 07

she was so impressed with how the pup was doing that they decided to leave her here.
that little dog doesn't want to go home, She fought that leash like mad.
which I kind of found a little humorous since she acted the perfect lady on leash to the Vet.

So ... Untill they make up their mind I have her and she is welcome as long as she wants to stay.

Re: Freeloader

Cyn,

Her blue eyes look right through you
Such a sweet little girl.
She appears to be a pure bred.
Someone should be looking for her.
This kind of dog is an expensive one in this part of the country.

;D Its always nice to see there are kind animal lovers out there. Some is probably looking,as it seems like a well breed of a husky. Sometimes people put a "name chip" under the skin, and a vet could scan to find out.Any howwwwwwww, thanks for your taking care of the dog. Idig

Re: Freeloader

Old Dog,

The "new dog" found you. Hope you get to keep her. Even if you locate the owner, she has probably already bonded to you, and you'll have a friend for life. Let us know how this shakes out.

Re: Freeloader

You know I think she has bonded some.

She follows me around like .. .. .. well, like a puppy. LOL

She sure is a sweet little thing,
I am really sure she is a pure bred one.
A Siberian Husky if memory and markings are correct.

Ornery too.
It has been a long time for me and a pup this young.
She is into everything !

I have to child proof the house again.

LOL
Thom

Here she is this morning.

Re: Freeloader

OK,

So I found a program on a local radio station and have advertised a puppy found.
I didn't give more than a location , I figured the owner can describe the dog and get her back.
I will do the same for a week in the paper on Monday.
I will also go to my vet and see if she has a micro chip on Monday.

If I get no positive response I figure I have done my part and the dog will be mine...

Like I need another dog.
But I have to admit she has made it clear she likes it where she is and has not made an effort to leave.

Maybe she thinks she won the dogie lotto or something

LOL

Re: Freeloader

I still need to get over to the pound and see if a friend wants to adopt me. I never buy one, so many need a home. You were lucky, she came to you.
I have to go to the pound and select one, thats hard to do, turning down a lot of sad eyes is tough. Gnewt

Hi guys,

Her actual name is Noel but we already have one of those here
and if we call Noel we end up with a 110 pound German Shepard.
So we are calling her Saasha.
She answers to it just fine.

a side note to yesterday evening...

after those folks left her here and went home her whole demeanor changed from a troubled baby,
to one of Hey, I can relax now those people are gone and I'm good.
like someone flicked a switch.

she is such a good sweet little animal.
