Hello folks...I ended up having to have a heart cath last week and still taking it a bit easy right now. Sooooo, while I was relaxing on the back porch, I finally got 2 pics of the hummingbirds that visit my feeder. Think we have about 5 regulars now...Great looking little birds..just wish I had that much energy..HH and thanks for looking.

Playin the the dirt is SUCH much more fun but rest has it's place as well and I do believe you are in that place right now....best to rest....then have more chance of healing up far better so you can dig holes much longer!

Sorry to hear about the heart cath. I hope every thing turns out OK. Have a speedy recovery so you can get out there and hunt.

Glad to hear you are on the mend!

We started putting cotton balls out on the deck for the hummingbirds to use as nest material. They love it! Take a cotton ball or 2, stretch them out a little & fluff them up, put a twistytie around the middle, & attach them to a plant or something about eye level. It's really cute to see the birds fly off with a beak full of cotton. Now the finch type birds are catching on. This year I've had to refill the cotton thingies several times. I got the idea when I spotted hummingbirds going after the frayed end of a cotton rope to get fibers. They were also picking spider webs from under the porch rail. Clever little guys!!!

Thanks Burdie and MG....Cruisin....hadn't thought about cotton balls but great idea. This is actually the first year I put the feeder out. My daughter brought it home from a store when she was down...Said I looked bored and since she had seen one fly by, figured it might would stop in for a drink. Think it is getting nesting time here too....So I will give that a shot.

Great pictures. The other day, I had a humming bird come to my livingroom window to get to the pink flowers from a plant that's setting there on the window seal lol It tried twice before giving up. Im gonna put out a feeder I guess, I have seen a few more of them than usual so it wouldnt hurt.
