Doing a bit of tidying in the garden I found this avocado tree,
it is under a bush and a lilac tree and with very little light
and a north facing wall, it has grown where it landed after I threw it out.
Being a tropical tree I don't expect it to survive the winter.
but I will protect it as much as I can and see what happens.

Now, if you had a green house, you'd be all set. Another 5 or so years and you'd have a weeks supply with a bumper crop every 2nd year.

Try it as a house plant in a sunny spot.

Generally, here in California, an avocado is grown from a graft and not from a seed. This assures a constant quality, size and oil content being identical to the parent plant.

Avocados are a constant in our weekly diet (4 to 6 weekly) and are used in sandwiches, salads, relishes, or sliced in a bowl with Japanese rice vinegar. Hmmmmmmmmmm
