Very nice picture, thanks Old Dog. They grow amazingly well in harsh conditions, and the bulbs can be eaten to survive on. Of course it is illegal to pick them in Utah, but on a survival camp they sure did taste good...

Here is a friend or two we ran into on the trip.
I was kind of excited,
It was almost like...
"We have seen you before, we guess you are OK."
It is the closest I have ever been to them !

Those guys are desert Bighorn sheep.
They usually tend to be a bit shy.
But this group is pretty used to being photgraphed by me, that they stuck around this time

Never seen them before. Good looking animals.

Of course I've only hunted in the coastal ranges of California, and never out of state.

Suppose you didn't really need any more California hunters over there, anyway! ;D

For one of these to be a legal game animal,
the horn mus make a full curl.
The sheep in this photo are less than five years old.
