Here's a couple more, along with a hawk that was hanging out on a fence in another spot I was looking at

Nice green lookin' place, Night!

What did they mine there?

It almost resembles cement plant operations I've seen over here on the left coast, actually out in the desert areas.

Coal mines, theres 4 hiding in various spots of the town, and probably all within that dense woods, the dump spots aren't too hard to figure out, I'm guessing the mines themselves will be within the vicinity of the each dump area. I'm hoping to turn up some nice old relics if no coins or such appear ;D

Ah, coal mines...

Don't they use HUGE colossal size equipment?

What sort of finds would you expect to locate there, on old mine property?

Wouldn't it be better to find some old settlement where the miners once lived?

...I dunno...

I think Jeff might know a bit about Centralia, or be able to direct you to the info...

They used hand tools and equipment as well, I'm working on locating the settlement areas as well, I've been told by a few of the old timers around here that they lived very close to the mine areas, so I'm hoping one will help lead me to the other. The entire town is only 5 miles long, if even. It's just heavy forest areas that I have to hung through that makes it challenging.

Good job on getting that hawk, it's rare around here that they get that close to anything relating to humans.

Be careful where you walk around those sites. Happy hunting!
