Great photo, one place we want to visit when we get our West Coast trip scheduled is to see the big trees! Just have to figure out what will make it more worthwhiled to travel from Washington State down the coast to do it. :) I miss seeing the big trees of the Pacific NW.

Thank you Donna,

One log; three winters firewood.

table?   Dang, a slab a that could be the side of a house!   :o

Nice photo Tim!

Thanks Wes,

I would put the door at the end, and the house would be one log long.

Twig?

LoL! ;D

I could probably build a nice little house with either side!
Not necessarily Algore style, but good enough for the likes of me.

Very nice pic! But who took it? Missed the post because I am back to writing my second book and that takes a lot if time. By the time you get back the snow will be here. It is only 60* here and raining. Been that way for a while. Took my LittleBear for a walk around the park on Saturday and came back with a headache from the wind, wish I was in California! Looking forward to more pictures! Jim B

You are correct in saying that you could build a home from either section of the fallen redwood...however, that one is small compared to many others in the vicinity.

When you drive thru the Coastal Redwoods in Humboldt County, the Redwoods forest is more dense and carries more tonnage per acre than any know rain forest.

The scale is awsome...

The redwoods should be classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
