... a mouse trap rig sounds like what I would call a bottom bouncer w/leader, only your 4 feet off bottom with 35 feet of leader, me 18” and 5’ leader.
Those rods look nice.Are they one piece or 2 or something else?
Do you run 2 speed reels? After thinking about shallow being 100 feet and those monsters I’m sure you do.
Gamakatsu hooks? I think they are the sharpest. They will stick into your thumbnail.
I make all my own ice fishing lures but 64/ounce and #8 trout shanked hooks...

Ok...fat, it looks like its called a stinger rig...we call it a mouse trap, but its more commonly known as a stinger rig. Heres a pic.....sometimes I use the treble as my second hook, sometimes another j hook. Depends whats biting.

Fat...our rods are all one piece graphite blanks.....we love the 4/0 Gamagatsu circle hooks....they are sharp !!

The Bull head is the only salt water fish I have ever mounted. They are a beautiful fish just out of the water. That one is a dandy.

Bart, Congrats on landing those monsters! Were they hanging out around some floating debris or structure?

Nope....swam up from the middle of nowhere. Saw the big boy streak in from over 60-80 yards.....his big head was pushing a big wake !!
