August 23rd 2011 was an interesting day in the Mid Atlantic.... especially in Washington DC and New York.

Watch the video here of how the seismic energy traveled across America..... pretty amazing...

... but while the world was focused on this quake, little was being said about a 4.7 and 5.3 earthquakes that jolted Colorado 11 and 5 hours earlier respectively. This was the largest seismic event in Colorado in more than a century.

What I find interesting is, the Colorado quake was about 100 miles south of (and felt in) NORAD... and the Virginia quake was 83 miles southwest of (and felt in) DC. I'm not going to speculate beyond that - but it is an interesting "coincidence". Let's hope our enemies haven't developed an earthquake generator!

Ok, enough conspiracy talk...

As I am writing this I see there was a 4.5 aftershock at 1am local time.... 9 hours ago... there was also a 3.4 near Saranac Lake New York... which if you look at the geology there ... makes you wonder what else could break loose! (use google earth and look at the geology of Saranac Lake, New York!)

Yikes! Hold on East Coast!

Did YOU feel any of these quakes?

p.s., here's a page I use to see earthquake activity around the world...
