Gravity Dredge

I am going to "build" (actually assemble) a gravity dredge this year. I am wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions for me. As far as I can tell, it is as easy as putting a hose in the water and attaching it to a sluice. I know you need x amount of feet of drop and the nozzle can be just about anything as long as the hose has enough length. So the question is, should I try to hook a venturi nozzle to it, or should I just do straight suction? any ideas?

Thanks,

D

Due to the fact that most of the rivers in nebraska are relatively flat I don't think that you will have much luck with a gravity dredge. If you do happen to find a spot with enough drop then you are still only going to be able to use it at that spot and there likely won't be alot of gold there.
