Ramsey is about 40 miles NE of Carson City and 10 miles NW of Silver Springs and is in Lyon County. Paher briefly states that there are prospect holes and no buildings left there. I believe the area was prospected in the late 1800,s and played out quickly. Don,t know if any paying amounts of ore were discovered.

That,s all I got.

I know this is old as hell but thought I would add my info. You cannot legally enter the Ramsey area as its all owned land (patented mine) You need permission to enter that area from the owner. I have been in the mine and around the area a few times interesting stuff. There is a road being built that is very close that spot. The project is at a dead stop cause Lyon county has no money and or interest in paying there share to get the road from I 80 to 50.. Anyhow I do have some cool pictures if anyone would like to see them. FYI there is a guy who lives near there that "patrols" the area and he does carry a .45. They have had issues with people trying to break into the area.
