Most NJ public beaches only restrict swimming at night when the lifeguards are not on duty, but most (including Sea Isle City - "SIC") require badges to access the beaches. It's best to buy a weekly badge instead of daily. Each township is different down there with regards to beach access at night, though I've never found it to be a problem.

SIC has guided Beachcombing sessions every Tuesday and Thursday a.m. during the season. You should try to call their registration number and find out the regulations for after hours access: 908-263-9643.

Thanks for the info. We usually get the weekly passes anyway. I just wasn't sure if they closed the beach completely after dark.
