Planing on heading over to Jersey for a little get away. I heard that Jersey charge to get on the beaches. Can anyone tell me what is costs to get on the beach and is it per day or a season cost. Is the cost per person or car. Plus is there any beaches that do not charge to get on them. As I have never heard of this before. I try to go to different place every year and this is the first. Thanks for any help that you guys/gals can give me.....Matt

I'm not from Jersey but go there yearly for family vacations. I believe they charge a fee per person for a beach pass. It can be a daily, weekly or seasonal pass. Cost isn't bad and I think its by town. I would search for the beach you plan on hunting and see what the requirements are exactly. HH

Go after hours when the crowds go away, typically after 5 or in the earlier in the morning. The beach tag checkers don't come out to early and I believe after 5 they don't charge. Hope it helps. I want to detect at Sandy Hook, however it is prohibited.

Atlantic City and Wildwood beaches are free still as far as I know but you have to pay for a beach tag for each person over the age of 11 or 12 I think. It is best to buy a weekly tag if you are there for the whole week, then you don't have to worry about getting checked by the beach tag checkers!

Yep Margate is $15 for the season. Ocean City is $5 a day or $10 a week. But if you are out late or when the sun is rising no one will bother you.

So is it true then that you can detect at night in OC or SIC?

I just got back from Wildwood. No fees/beachtags whatsoever to go to the beach.
