I live in N. Central Florida & used to detect a lot. I got away from it for some years,, but am now returning to the hobby. I use a Fisher CZ3D , CZ5 , & a Tesoro Compadre.

Never found anything of great value, moneywise. I found plenty of old coins years ago, when most were silver . A 1/2 Dime , a few rings , Indian & Civil War artifacts , parts from a Revolutionary War ship, & other items.
