    new guy to detecting

    morning all,

    just got a BH quicksilver for Christmas and am looking forward to trying it out here in SW Missouri. any clubs or members in the area? also am greenhorn at doing this as have wanted to since my first visit to a Civil War site and know that there are many undiscovered sites here on this side of Missouri.

    thanks to both of you and so far in my first afternoon of detecting, i found a penny, quarter, knife blade, and a large fork. nothing old or earth-shattering, however, at least it is a start.
