Welcome from California. Most single frequency detectors will work well in dry sand. Wet sand is more of a challenge with a single frequency machine.
If you plan on getting in the water than look at a waterproof machine. Lots of choices in your price range. Most detectors suitable for dry sand work well
for inland detecting.GL
