I'm Vern from eastern N.C. Wanted to get started on detecting, living only 30 miles from the ocean. Any suggestions on what I should get in the range of $500-$700? REally nice site with a lot of knowledge available.
Welcome from California. Most single frequency detectors will work well in dry sand. Wet sand is more of a challenge with a single frequency machine.
If you plan on getting in the water than look at a waterproof machine. Lots of choices in your price range. Most detectors suitable for dry sand work well
