"The New Guy" checking in from Maryland

Hello everyone, I'm new detectorist checking in from Frederick County, Maryland. In the past week I received my new Fisher F4 & Garrett ProPointer and my son and I went on our first hunt. I must say we are hooked! Now he wants a metal detector for Christmas which means more Father-Son time! In 3 hours we came away with 11 coins (4 qtrs. , 4 pennies & 3 dimes), with the oldest one dated from 1974. Even though we didn't walk away from our outting with some precious metals (coins, rings or relics)...we still felt very successful giving it was our first time. All we do now is countdown to our next outing together.

By joining this forum I look forward to extending my knowledge base from all the experience individuals on this site...and hopefully we can meet some fellow detectorist to share experience and meet some locals for some possible outings!
