I'm 38 and have never rally thought much about Metal Detecting, than something happened... I really don't know what, I just wanted to try it. I picked up a crappy detector and found a bunch of scrap Iron. Although it was nothing of value, it was enough to get me hooked.

Just signed up and waiting on my first detector, its a Garrett AT Pro. After checking out about one thousand reviews, it seemed like a good choice for a little more than $600. It should be in by this Friday, that should give me some time to get warmed up over the holiday weekend.

I'll be here picking brains for information and tips, If your around Rockland say whats up, maybe we can get to hunting! :hello:

Cool!! Start hunting your own yard to learn pin pointing and proper hole making or plug making. Due to the current drought here it is not really good to dig in lawns much as you will likely kill the grass. Gonna need a few days of good rain before lawn hunting is OK again. Have a ball with your new machine!!
