Don't use the word DIG. Use recovery instead.

Is your proposal necessary? Are their current town ordinances that prohibit metal detecting?

Welcome aboard TNet! Good luck with proposal. I have to agree with Loco, though, is it even necessary? I have yet to go anywhere that generally banned MDing on public land. (not saying those places don't exist)

I stumbled upon the group while doing research. I am drafting a proposal to allow MD in my little town of Oak Grove, MO.

Welcome to TreasureNet... I lived in Columbia Mo for 20 years..

Hello Lisa-Acuff,

When writing about metal detecting please use the non-destructive words like: cut a flap, artifact recovery or recovery. Also explain how all trash is removed from the extraction site. The list couls on, but I hope you get the idea.

In my hobby/business, I deal with historical societies, historical properties, sensitive areas, towns and cities rules and regulations. This "business" is all about appearance, knowledge, reputation and really understanding the art of metal detecting and artifact recovery.

Good Luck with you endeavor,

Doc
