New to the Forum and to Detecting

Hi everybody, so glad to be here! Today was my first outing, just to get the feel of my machine. Although it has the digital display, I fast discovered that if I listen first and look at my display second I have better luck at finding the target. I didn't expect to find anything spectacular, and I didn't. But I was happy happy happy to find 6 clad coins, 2 nicks and 4 pennies. I'm going out every day this holiday weekend, and I expect to get better each time I "fish".
