Hello all,
I am a new guy from Virginia and I have been lurking this sight for a bit. My girlfriend and I have the Garrett AT Pro and the Garrett Ace 400 with pin pointers. We are mainly interested in relic hunting, but have gone to my local beach to try them out. Have not really found anything of interest except some change and of that the only old stuff was a 1964 D dime in bad shape. As for the relic hunting, we mainly do that around central Virginia in Amelia County. She has found some interesting pieces and a good friend of ours has found tons. He is the one that got us into it. (Bast2rd... He made me spend a fortune) Anyway, I just want to say hello. I will post some pics if we find anything interesting. Waiting for the spring thaw.

Yeah I have looked in the VA section. Not a lot of activity there. Hey you never know. Thanks for the reply.

Welcome to Tnet,
There isn't a piece of soil in Virginia that wasn't touched by Civil War activities. It's only a matter of time before you start to find some relics.

I agree fully! The friend of mine who got us into it has found some really interesting things (Bullets, Buttons, rifle parts etc...). He has some interesting old maps that he has over laid modern roads on so it is helpful locating areas where encampments were and such. Getting permission is the toughest part. Some folks out there do not want a stranger on their land. I guess I cannot blame them.

I look forward to spring when we can get back out there.

The Lost Colony was in North Carolina I am pretty sure, but not far at all.
