Hi all! I am brand brand new to metal detecting!! I've purchase a bounty hunter qsi quick silver detector but have yet to use it! Does anybody know if I am able to use this in water? Not salt water, just in a stream or a river. Is it submergable to a couple of feet? I know I can't get the box with the LCD screen wet, but how about the shaft portion of it? I would love to search in the runoff of a nearby waterfall, the water is knee to waist height. Thanks!!

Welcome from NW CT. I'm sure you will love this new hobby. Sorry, I am not familiar with your machine, so I can't tell you whether it's waterproof, water-resistant (big difference) or not water rated. If you're not sure, don't take a chance and ruin a new machine!
