Hey everyone! My name is Matt and I'm from the Harrisonburg, Virginia area. I recently returned from a trip to Gettysburg and that really lit my fire to get started in treasure hunting. I suspect there are a lot of really good artifacts in my area just waiting to be found. That said, I am new to this and would appreciate any advice you could provide! I look forward to hearing from some of you!

Hello Matt and Welcome from Bridgewater, VA! Just a short run away. There are several people in the area. You will find that the people here can really be helpful and the site has plenty of info. Now if mother nature will just cooperate. Sorry for the gang in the Northeast, got rocked by the storm!

Welcome to Tnet and the most addicting hobby. I would start off by going to a local metal detecting club meeting. There you will learn about all the laws and regulations in your area. Also they should be able to give you resources and tips. My club has a metal detecting dealer, so depending on what kind of treasure hunting your interested in they can supply the right machine for the job. GL & HH
