Brand new to metal detecting. My brother and dad dabbled a bit and peaked my interest. I recently moved to Orlando from St. Augustine. You can't hardly dig a post hole in St. Aug due to all the historic stuff. I have been out 3 times here in Orlando and have been hitting ball fields. Have done pretty well with Quarters, and Dimes. I doubt I will find anything old here as Orlando seems to be a newer town. Any ideas of places I might go looking other than just local parks?

Welcome! Lots of great places in Florida -- look into trying some beach hunting. You'll find lots of great advice in different areas across TNet. It's a great hobby, just keep at it!
