I was born and raised in America, but I'm full German. I spent over 10 years in the food service. For years, I have been obsessed with my German heritage. I was spending years studying the German cuisine and adding it to my regular menu of meals to eat and serve. But, I was diagnoised with a under active thyroid disease. which, I had to convert to being vegan to control the symptoms. So, I can't study the German cuisine anymore.

I have a new career path. I am on the career path to becoming a professional dog groomer. But, I am still very interested in the German heritage. I am addicted to the Vikings and Norse mythology.

My question:
Is it illegal for me to use a metal detector to look for relics or look in rivers for artifacts without a college degree in archaeology?

Welcome to the site. As far as legal or not to search river bottoms ,Texas major rivers are fair game.
