Another new guy from Florida! (Scuba certified...๐Ÿ˜)

Hello Everybody! I am another new guy from the partly sunny state of Florida! I am in the Tampa area and am super interested in all things treasure hunting but specifically Wreck Diving, metal detecting, and Cach hunting. I found this forum and thought it would be pretty neat to add any of my future experiences to and more importantly gain knowledge from all you guys!

I am definitely a newbie with only a little no successful metal detecting for treasure hunting experience. I am greatly experienced in scuba diving thougj and am super interested in diving for treasure or one day even discovering my own wreck/money pot. I currently have a basic water resistant metal detector (away in closet, forgot it's name), a full set of scuba gear (except the tank), and access to a boat anywhere accross the nation (boat club). If anybody could point me in the right direction for beach metal detecting and underwater metal detecting that would be great. Also the laws surrounding each... Thank you so much!

Welcome from Virginia. I metal detected in Florida quite a bit but never found anything really old. The ocean/gulf is big and alas the loop was small. I had fun doing it though (unless the surf was up) and I did find jewelry and coins. Good luck and time spent metal detecting is the key to good finds in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum from Port Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
You can't go wrong with the purchase of a Minelab Excalibur. Submersible to 200 feet and works flawlessly in salt water.
