Hello everyone my name is Robert I’m taking up this new hoppy and was wondering how do you know where to go metal detecting and how do you find out or get permission to detect. I live in hampton Virginia area.

Welcome, I like homes from the 40-60's for silver hunting. I knock and ask at the door for permission

Welcome from Brownwood in central Texas! Knock on doors and ask permission to hunt interesting places you find in your area and get to know the people in your county's Tax Appraisal Office. They can be of great help when looking for public areas to detect.

Welcome from the Shenandoah Valley! Do some research on old homes, who may own them and knock on doors. Also, check for Detecting clubs in that area. They may have meetings and people that get together to hunt and be willing to point you in the right direction. Good Luck!
