Go out in the field and use it. Once you have 100 or so hours you'll get the hang of it. Sure, asking Q's will help but nothing beats experience.

Welcome from down the road in Yarnell!!! from another Terry (C). Tried to get Maughan Ranches to let me detect the school over there. Nix. Just found an 1895? nickel in front of Alice's Hair hideout. Going to put a pizza place with liquor license in front of the barber shop. All dug up right now. Not yet posted but I will before the day is up. Tell me, is there a guy running around up there mumbling something about 40 cubits by 40 cubits? STOP THE RAIN!! I will go out detecting at the drop of a hat! Just let me know. ╦╦Ç
