I've recently gotten into mining for gold, I'm 27 and live in the north bay. I decided to join AMRA because I believe in their cause and I really wanted access to their claims as I didn't have any. I'm going up to the middle fork of the Yuba River in a couple days, if anyone wants to tag along let me know, either I can pick you up or I can give you the location. My ARMA pass allows me to bring a person or 2 I believe. I have a small sluice that I need to try out. I went to my uncle's claim on the North Yuba and we dumped material in his bigger sluice for about an hour maybe less but it was raining so hard that we had to call it as I was soaking wet and it was cold. I brought the cons home and panned them out and it was decent gold not great for about 5 pounds of cons maybe less. We didn't have the sluice set up properly as I didn't find any fine gold, I think we had too much water flowing through there. Anyway I'll probably make a formal post about my up coming day trip with more details and see if anyone wants to come along. Look forward to posting with you!
