So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). There a great deal of wear, erosion and damage as I zoomed in on the picture. Yes, I see marks on the rocks. But if they were man made, that was in a language far older than maybe even ancient Egypt. I just can't put the marks together.

I don't claim to know much, but to me it looks like a type of sedimentary rock that has holes left from the cementation process. Potentially the white is efflorescence? I'm having a hard time making out any symbols/writing... can you post another pic of the same pic but use paint to mark out what you see? would give us a better chance of assisting.
