"I have fought against the people of the North because I believed they were seeking to wrest from the South its dearest rights. But I have never cherished toward them bitter or vindictive feelings, and I have never seen the day when I did not pray for them." General Robert E. Lee

"My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me, that is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave." General Stonewall Jackson

    Welcome from Corsicana, TX!

Don't let the age/weight issue slow you down. I'm in the same boat as you. 61, overweight, arthoritis in both knees. I just get down on the dirt & dig, then work my way back up. Joined weight watchers & working on the weight issue. Not much help on the age issue.

I would like to find out more about attending a metal detecting club in Northern Illinois without having to drive to Chicago (but maybe). I like many others don't know where to go in Lake County, Illinois and would be welcome to feedback on this. Being in my mid 50's and overweight somewhat bending down and getting up is not great for me but working on that. Welcome to all responses about a club and where to legally search at.

    Welcome,

I’m in the Round Lake area. Please post if you find any local club or places to hunt.

I certainly will reply with locations in Mumdelein and surrounding areas but so far due to weight issues getting up/down and limited on knowing where to go, itís been really slow for me but I hope to motivate myself further as I really love this stuff. I have another post where I have contacted the Mundelein Parks and you are free to search but they say no digging so it limits you to coin popping or being careful with a small digging device - no large shovels in sight to draw attention. I suppose by water pond/lakes might be ok also. I you wNt to go out sometime, let me know. Tim
