I have been doing little detecting off and on for several years and just found this Forum. My Wife and I are both Retired AF. I retired first and she about 7 years later. After about 3 months she got herself a State job. I don't think she liked staying home with me, LOL. Our property backs up to National Forest and there are several old home sights from the 1800's, supposedly they were home sights given to immigrants to help settle the area back in the early 1800's or so. Can't wait to explore the area. I currently have a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505. I started out with a Radio Shack detector that was the same as the Bounty Hunter Gold Digger.

Just a word of caution,, anything with the word NATIONAL in it,, is usually off limits to metal detecting.
