I'm glad to be part of the MetalDetecting Community. My wife & I decided to try out metal detecting, she has never metal detected before but she says she has always wanted to get into the hobby. I myself have been into the hobby but it was a few years back and last week my wife saw a video on youtube and said she like to try, I do have 2 Ace 250's that I had for a few years now and a bounty hunter LoneStar. but I was thinking of sending for a Quest X10 for her she has carpal tunnel in her right wrist, and we both like the way the Quest M/D handles are designed on their detectors. easier on the wrist and shoulder. I myself have been looking at the Quest Q40 it looks like a nice detector and has great reviews.:hello:

Welcome from Orlando. Your Wife might want to try a sling for her arm and wrist. It really helped me with my arm after surgery. Seen them on Amazon and eBay. I made my own from a binocular strap and some zip ties. B54F6841-0C6D-477E-A57B-91E102FB8FEA.jpeg

Yes, WELCOME to Treasure Net...!
Any detector should beep when over metal,
just you need to know what it is telling you...!
So Guess, and THEN dig it up - you learn that way...!
Good Luck and Happy Hunting...!

And the Simplex, collapses down, to a nice small-ish pkg, so you know that there's no limit to adjust-ability, and see if you can get the SP-24 or the 22 coil with the machine, its much lighter.

I also recall that there's a "sling-thingy", that are being used by detectorists, that have shoulder and wrist problems...
It takes a lot of the weight of the machine, and transfers it to neck and back.
I hope you can find it online, if not, someone here on the forum, will help you....
YouTubers...."Mud Dog Mandy....; and the Hoover Boys, use the sling, you'll spot it....
