Raton - Abandoned highway point of entry

Watch for the chugholes getting to this place. It's on the old highway that used to go across Raton Pass to Trinidad, Colorado. The road's not maintained and while the 'You Are Entering New Mexico' sign was still readable a decade ago and the building was intact, it's clear nobody much goes up there.

I'm guessing it would make a crackerjack detecting site.

Thanks for the reply and kind words Dave.

That one didn't come from research indoors. Came from a dreadful curiosity and going up a lot of roads to I-don't-know-where. Turn over a rock in New Mexico if there's not a scorpion under it there's a potsherd or spent 45-70 hull.

    Gracias,
    Jack
