anyone know any good spots to go hunting w/ metal detector in olean ny

What are you interested in finding? Goto the county historical society... research, read, and check out the maps.

Great hunting spots require as much work to find as they do to hunt.

Good luck (I'm a Rochester native).

LOL!!!

I was born in Cuba and lived on 211 N. 11th st. as a kid.
Moved to Henrietta in 1962.
I remember the address as it was hammered into my head by Mom in case us kids ever got lost.
Dad worked at Clark Brothers.
Family farm was in Friendship on Sunnyside.
I remember getting dimes from gramps as a kid so I could buy an ice cream cone around the corner.
Probably dropped a merc or 2 in my yard - go knock on the door and check it out.
The street was brick as I remember.

Now that would be neat to find something you lost as a child. This almost sounds like a fun adventure. I'll have to look into this more.

Hey Greg-

Good idea but I live in Houston (since 1980).
Haven't been back to Olean since '62.
Someday....
