Has anyone heard of this fort? Has anyone ever searched it? Looks like it is on the canal somewhere.

Has anyone heard of this fort?  Has anyone ever searched it?  Looks like it is on the canal somewhere.

Is it south of the city along the canal route?  Maybe south-west?  I remember a small amount of unknown forts outlying Stanwix... probaby trading forts, in what is now that rich black soil farmland.

I haven't lived in Rome since 1995, but I do have some fuzzy memories.   

There was a Fort Bull on Wood Creek back then... erected in 1725.

actually there were 2 seperate forts 1 next to the other built at different times
I overlayed an old fort location map on google one time and found them both as well as area where the other oneida carry forts were

Ya gotta love Central NY. You can't swing a detector without hitting an old Fort site.
