Racer 2 has always been my second favourite during the last 12 months as it is nearly as good as the Impact in high mineralisation when hunting nuggets. It is cheaper and lighter but not all the features and quality tones of the Impact has. From owner reports Gold Racer is not as stable and cannot be ground balanced but is good for very small nuggets in low/medium ground. Again the Kruzer lacks some features of the Impact-notably two tone discrimination feature in GEN mode but is waterproof and lighter and recovery on multiple targets is impressive. Most users don,t need all the Impact features and are looking for a lighter,waterproof and less complicated machine so I would assume the Kruzer range would be more popular.
