This is great news Terry. I've been searching for a ring for a friend of mine in a lake here in Syracuse, and i haven't found it yet. He's interested in detecting now and I think this would be the perfect detector for him. Maybe he will be able to find his own ring with it!

Terry how did it work on the wet salt beach and in the surf ???? its half the price of that nox or sand shark you were using is it half as good or just better then say a Ace which is worthless ...My beach is as bad as in the surf ...

I thought single freq machines are a thing of the past or is it they sell more and minelab is dreaming

It works better on wet sand than any other single freq VLF I have used, including the Racer. At $400 it's a bargain. It is NOT as good as the Equinox 600.:occasion14:

Have not used or even seen the Vanquish yet. Debbie just did a rool out in Chicago, and is headed to Tampa now, to do a roll out with Phil Myers. I may catch her at Bill Southern's outing in Arizona, in November. We'll see!:occasion14:

Question Terry if I may. How do you like the numerical target readout on the Simplex? I believe its 90-100 numbers wide . I liked my nox 800 but I did not like the small number span. Too many targets read out at the same number. I have always liked a wider number scale, as I feel it tends to give me more information on the target before I dig. As I get older, I want to dig iffy targets less! TNX

Honestly Pick, I don't use the numerical readout. I go strictly by sound/tone, because I've never tested or used a machine that had a numerical readout that could not be fooled. If I have a solid target that isn't iron, I dig it.:icon_thumleft:
