sjvalleyhunter,, there is currently a virus that affects all types of birds spreading across a few counties in California. It is called Virulent Newcastle Disease. If a bird gets it they are doomed. The only way to eradicate it and stop the spread is to euthanize the entire flock. No birds are allowed to be shipped in or out of the affected areas. No pigeons, chickens, doves, etc. You hear anything about it??

Yeah, I’ve heard about it but it’s primarily in southern California. We don’t even consider those folks down there part of the Great Country of California. I’ll still bbq up a good batch of pigeon without hesitation.

They did have a case of it in Utah. In California, they were at first, inspecting, backyard chicken coops. When the virus was found in commercial chicken farms, birds were euthanized by the thousands.
Then they realized that this virus attacks all birds. So they started inspecting pigeon coops and euthanizing whole flocks.
They are currently focused on Los Angeles and 4 or 5 surrounding counties.
The virus is not considered deadly to humans.

Next it will become a sanctuary state....then the game is on. Here in Michigan we are having issues with immigrants committing crimes and local and state authorities wont turn them over to the feds and will release them! Insanity
