Frog Egg Chert
I was looking over some of this years finds and noticed this peculiar material I've never really seen before. I found three points made of this lithic, an Armstrong, Lecroy, and a Guilford. I took some close ups because it's hard to see at a distance. This is some funky looking rock I'm calling Frog Egg Chert until I find out more about it. Anyone have an idea of what this is?

Re: Frog Egg Chert
The appears to be Harrodsburg chert. In central Indiana, we find this material. It is not one of the more common materials found, but it does occur.

Hello all! My first post!
Looks like the bulk of the material are ooids, making it an oolitic chert. Ooids are originally made of calcium carbonate but can go through later alteration by SiO2 to form a chert.

Neat artifacts 37 and as rush2112 said, they are made from an oolitic chert.
