New Flint Hunter in NY
Hello all,
I have been "flint hunting" for almost 20 years in France and I have now been living for almost 7 years in the US, in Westchester,NY. This said, I therefore almost haven't been flint hunting for 7 years...
I would really be interested in knowing this part of the US more (mostly close areas in NY and CT) and I am therefore looking for hunting fellows. If any good samaritan wants to help, I'l be more than glad !!
Thanks

Find a plowed field near a good water source like a large river or creek, obtain permission, and start walking. You should be able to not only find Flint, but artifacts as well. Good luck.

Thanks The Grim Reaper. This is a good piece of advice. It is actually how I used to proceed in France. But I am facing a couple issues with this :
1) I am not so familiar with Westchester
2) The part of Westchester I live in is rather urban and I have to go North to actually find any plowed fields
3) Well... Being French does not help that much !
I would also like to go with somebody. It can be a little more fun than going on your own and sharing about finds is always enjoyable. Therefore, I am looking for good souls that would allow me going flint hunting with them. I may be asking too much I know but I am still giving it a try.
Thanks for your feedback.

I'm in North Eastern PA and would be willing to take you out sometime!! I hunt NJ, NY, PA. If you have a boat and leave early to get to my place I heard of a river that I have been dying to hunt because it is down. It is a hike from my house almost 2 and half hrs but, there are artifacts found all along the edge of it and apparently the river is so low now it has exposed new islands not seen since it was real low. PM me you number if interested and i'll call you and we can go from there....................GTP(Chris)
