    Ozan Creek

Just thought I would share a point type that you don't see every day. This is s pretty rare and obscure point type, the Ozan Creek. They are typically found associated with and on Poverty Point sites. They are made by flaking to form, then ground and polished. This particular example was found in Ozan Creek near Blevins, Ark., is made of novaculite and is illustrated in Perino's guide on pg. 158.

Atlantis, you stand a chance of finding one. My birthday's coming up, you'd better get to huntin'

    LOL,

Finding ONE I threw those away for years because they didn't fit the classic arrowhead mold....you know being ground more than chipped. I will dig through my bowls of scratch and dent stuff and see if I can find you one....LOL

Seriously...nice stuff there. I have found a couple of points that appeared polished more than chipped, the quality was normally quite low though. I will keep my eye out for one. I will send it to you if I find one. I guess you would rather have that than one of my crappy Clovis points or plainview points.

Got a lead on a really good spot today...only problem is distance...I guess for some nice points no drive is too far.

    Happy Huntin

    Neat point type Matt.

I have found a few highly polished points, but they were probably from being in water. I do have two drills though that are polished smooth as glass from one end to the other from use.
