Nice axe. Hard to tell from the pictures but does the damage look ancient or new ? Its a great looking axe regardless of the damage. Lot of time went into a tool like that. Nice.

The damage is definately ancient and looks like the bit might have been sheared off and they began attempting to rework it. Nice find. It's pretty common to find axes with ancient bit damage like that.

nice axe. full grooved came 1st. then 3/4 grooved, then 1/2 grooved, the no groove (celt). i personally think it is important to at least mark your finds with the county and state the piece was found in so that people know where it came from. good job.

Yeah but like he said its the only one he has found and I am sure he knows the county and when he found it. Maybe when he has a shelf full he can start writing all over the artifact for other people. With digital now days I would not write on any ancient artifact.
Nice Jazdo do not write all over it. Save the picture you took.
