thanks pick, the material you are asking about is very commonly used for scrapers, points, and knives

it is tongue river silicified sediment, also known as gray chert or chert

it looks like most of it flakes very nice

it is a relative of krf

Great finds, is there a couple pieces of ceramic pipe in that mix? If so I'm jealous. Another question, the part of the pic that is attached, is that a shell or ground down stone?

thanks beuwulf, there are no parts of a pipe
the other piece is a game piece made from mussel shell, it is very thick, I will try to get you another picture

Tn, the site does not continue on to adjacent land
