Nice Dalton......................that is the biggest Dalton flute I have seen..........!
I bet it was a Clovis point the Dalton person found and resharpened it!
It looks like a good Dalton with a very heavy flute!!
It might have been a Dalton knapper who done it
Most All Dalton were made from fluted preforms.....................no matter most people call them thinning strikes<<<wrong they are preform flutes<<
And that is a dandy of a example!

I thought I answered this a long time ago. I was going through some of my old posts and remembered how upset I was about how this one turned out. The request for authenticity came back and he was not comfortable to say it was authentic. Meaning, he thought it was reworked by someone much later if I remember right, or a newly reworked piece. I still have the point and look at it every now and then and smile about digging it up under that cliff when I was a kid. I don't care now who thinks it's a fake. My memories are mine and those who choose to believe them. I'm glad I kept the point. Thank you for your interest in my post. I'm sorry it took me this long to clear the matter up.

Nice point. I wouldn't rule out Redstone either.
