I found this Bird Stone In Pike County Missouri while surface hunting years ago, I do not know of any others found in Missouri. This artifact won Best of show at the Greater St. Louis Archeology 50th Anniversary Show. Sadly I sold it to Floyd Ritter of Collinsville Illinois, Im not for sure who owns it now

No it was not broken out, the tail was broke off shorter and reground, and there was a mouth incised into the beak,

The tail on mine was reworked as well, but no mouth and the hole is broken. Otherwise it looks very similar. I won't be back home for a couple more weeks, but I'll have to get a picture some time.
