Head Hunter,

It is difficult to see with your photos, but, it appears that your drill was struck as a "single" flake from a cobble; as the "cortex" of the original stone clearly shows. It also does not appear to have any retouching flakes taken from it. The break appears to be fairly recent, but that is hard to determine from a photo. It has a nice shape, and if the break is ancient, it "might" have been used as a drill, but it is not typical of how a "drill" was manufactured. Please don't be offended, I am not trying to be critical, I just want to give you an honest opinion.

(PS. I got nothing else to do at work either)

Good luck hunting,
3creeks
