Flippin Stick n good luck :)
k, i posted this guy up yesterday, and had them remove the post because i didnt want the whole negative feedback thing that had happened with my Cody Piece.
Then i woke up today and relised, this place is what used to give me inspiration to go out and hunt, and i would like others to get that inspiration that you all gave me in the past. so say what you would like to say about this, but all in all its a wonderful piece. And yes it was found.
It exhibits the typical desert polish, and does not have the "classic" river stain or patina you find towards the east.
Flute is full on one side, and the other, its hard to tell, seems to have flute that may go all the way up towards on the right hand side, but it is visable 1/4 way up. micro flaking all the way around except a small portion right before one of the ears, also exhibits basal grinding 1/2 way up on both sides.
:icon_sunny:
Please enjoy this piece

Killer find chong. There aren't 2 pieces on the banner nicer than this (maybe the big gold thingy... maybe). I hunted you area 10-15 years ago and know how hard anything is to come by, let alone a folsom partial, let alone a complete one. Great find, congratulations on the reward. The folks who hunt hard in the field know what an accomplishment any find is, let alone a Folsom.

I agree with a banner, also. It has more than enough votes. Its a once in a life time find, and most of us wont ever find one. I'll ring the banner button, once more. Good luck. John

Excellent point...it is finds like this that makes me want to take up the hobby of looking for points. Doing that and metal detect would probably cause a divorce...lol. I guess I'll just have to figure out a way to get the wife interested.

I'd say they don't want two fluted points up there because of the hissy-fit the mders threw over the last few banners.

It is what it is; congrats on the find of a lifetime.
soill, thanks, it took some time but its up tehre either way. i came to this site originally because of meteal detecting, then i picked up on bottles, since i got into artifacts, i have not touched a MD'er since, and honestly i dont ever think i will, unless i see some gold coins laying on the surface, then i might break it out ;)

Congrats! All I have been able to come up with is a corner of one! (you can see the flute, the flaking, everything, unmistakeable workmanship) Keep looking down on the earth!

Congrats on Banner!

Please don't pull the post... I want to show my son (who's BIG time into artifact hunting) the photos. He's really knowledgable about artifacts, and is especially interested in Paleo period artifacts.
