yeah, that's one but it is made of a soft material and has been eroded and weatherd so that the flake scars are no longer sharp, the edges are all rounded off. not sure what stone it is but some of your softer materials are- argellite, silt-stone,rhyolite,indurated shale. H-H.

Not sure what kind of stone it is either. It was found along the shore, so the sea has weathered it over the years, just had me fooled. Most of the points I find are made of flint. :icon_thumleft:

I have found on many trips points that have sat in water made of soft material lose there edge. I have found a few that have been in water so lone that they are just almost brittle. Back home in Arkansas this year they drained a lake that had never been drained to fix the flood levy. In doing so there were pieces everywhere some out of flint and some out of shell limestone etc. The softer stuff would just crumble most of them you could not even pick up.

Definetly a point, one of those classed as an "Ugly Point" still a nice find. I have many ugly points from NC..

I'll take what I can get here Molly. I was metal detecting and just happened to notice it. Glad I picked it up, I thought it was juat a rock. :icon_thumleft:
