First couple are of a day when all we found was pottery. The rest have been found over the last week. 2 come from work which is nice cause I got paid to find em. The one stemmed quartz one is very well made. There is a Levana in there. A small black scraper or knife. The last 2 pix are of what im calling a Little crude hand ax. Seems to have a bit and flakes taken off for fingers. It is uniface exept fpr the bit. Most of these are tidal or stream finds. What ya'll think?

Re: recent finds

Nice finds, interesting pottery shards, that last piece is interesting it might be a crude celt. How about a photo of the other side of it.

Re: recent finds

Can do later. The peice is acually uniface. The other side doesnt show signs exept on the bit. But its shape is just like a celt.

Thanks molly. What yall think about the red one. Some type of Brewerton maybe? found on a site where other brewertons have been found. None of look like that though.

Tearing it up man, nice haul. The stemmed crystal point is a sweetheart. Imo your red piece looks like a Penns Creek, but Brewerton is possible too I think.

Thanks 37. I was also thinkin maybe Palmer. idk. That quartz 1 was isnt getting any justice from pix. It is prob my 2cd most well made quartz point and pretty much see through. The insitu is pretty cool. Lucky I walked up on it cause sittin like that anyone would have seen it. Was hopin to hunt the creek this weekend with k1lla77 a new tnet member but the bossman thought a 7 day work week was best. Too bad hes sittin on a beach while we do the work.

Your quartz point shows that a well-fashioned point made out of top quality quartz is about as pretty an artifact as one can find.

Hi Bsit,

Lots of quartz south of Blue Mountain and east of the Susquehanna River. Once you wander upstate out of that area, it dramatically peters out.

It is quite rare, in my experience, to find as attractive a quartz point as yours.
