Artifact or Geofact?

If this wasn't cavity up I know on my morning walk through the field this would not
be in my hand. I don't know if this is natural or made by hand. Artifact or Geofact?

I'd have to say that one is an artifact and more than likely a Mortar like others have stated.

Thanks guys, artifact it is. I've found several others with pits the size of a peanut in them.
